At the feet of the Master..
No pics for today. Had a tutorial session with my mentor, Ying, and it was a humbling experience. Apparently everything Kenny Coleman (a teacher from Graphic Design school) taught us about 'shading' on the computer was incorrect, at least according to the Ying. Did some investigating on the web and found some very good Illustration work - far better than mine. Oh well, even if it isn't lucrative, at least it's something I enjoy doing.
I will be posting some of the previous pics with some Ying-recommended improvements. As well, in addition to the 'Mimi' pic to be posted there will also be (eventually) a pic of a work my friend has commissioned for a business he is starting. This one bound to be fun and I look forward to the final result.

I think if you post the revised Samantha pic you'll feel better. And don't forget you haven't been drawing for a while. It does take practice.
I've really enjoyed getting to look at your illustrations. They have a lot of character and personality. Of course beign uneducated in the graphic designy business, I have no idea whether they are graphic designy what they're supposed to look like, which other people seem to be posting on...But being the uneducated bum that I am, I just thought I'd give my humble opinion. I think they're really neat. I'd like to see the comic they come from. Especially like the guy with the lute.
The web comic is called Order of The Stick at: http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/GiantITP/ootscript
Thanks, I appreciate the comments - especially when they're positive. The fact that you're NOT trained in graphic design is a good thing. Sometimes when talking only to people in the business, you lose track of what's important in the piece.
